Hey there my little shades of red,

Today, we find ourselves for an article a little bit special, because it is the first one of a collaboration with Samantha of the blog, surletagere.com. Once or twice a month, you will find on our two blogs an article whose theme will be common. We will propose mainly TOP 5, but we let ourselves the possibility to open this topic to other thematic.

For this first meeting, we decided to talk about 5 books (standalone or series) that we would like to see adapted in film or series. Go on we do not lose a second more and we get started.

For this TOP I have selected 3 series and 2 standalone. The choice was difficult, because in the first place, I wanted to avoid talking about series too well known and especially overdue as it would have been THIRDS by Charlie Cochet or Cut & Run by Abigail Roux. Well, you tell me, I chose 3 sets also known, but should be avoided to point this out and say that it is thanks to them, I have addressed various genres.

Number 5: TEXAS by R.J. Scott

In 5th place I chose the TEXAS series of R.J. Scott. This series in 8 volumes is the perfect base for a TV series adaptation. It’s a perfect mix of Dynasty and Dallas in a gay version. There are low blows, reversals of situations, love and betrayal and all that with cowboys. In short this series would be a real wet dream for any self-respecting gay.

Number 4: Suddenly Yours by Jacob Z. Flores

In 4th position, I selected a title from the Dreamspun Desire collection from Dreamspinner Press from an author I particularly like. This is Suddenly Yours by Jacob Z. Flores. It is an author who has not yet been translated to France, but I hope you will have the chance to discover soon. I hesitated between two of his titles for this top. Jacob is also the author of The Warlock Brothers of Havenbridge, an excellent fantasy series in 5 volumes, the last of which, Blood Drop was released at the end of 2017. But this is not the title I chose. For this top, I decided to talk to you about Suddenly Yours. This title would make a perfect romantic comedy. Narrating the story of a senator in the middle of an election campaign after a party with a little too much alcohol consumed in Vegas, married to a former “jock.” It’s full of humor and tenderness. There are some small tensions, but with a cute happy ending. In short there is everything I look for in a good romantic comedy and if you read in English, I warmly recommend adding it to your PAL.

Number 3: Captive Prince by C.S. Pascat

In 3rd position, I selected for you a series of fantasy. The 3 Books of C.S. Pascat’s Captive Prince would be the perfect scripting base for an epic fantasy series that could easily fill the void that the end of Games of Thrones will leave. I will not dwell too much on this title. This is a classic that many of you have already read. If you do not belong to this category, you must at all costs and quickly remedy this. The captive Prince is a must-have of the MM that transcends the barriers of the genre in order to offer a saga that has everything to please the greatest numbers, even the beginners of the MM.

Number 2: Bear, Otter and the Kid by T.J. Klune

In second position, still a classic, but this time in contemporary romance. I chose T.J. Klune’s Bear, Otter and the Kid series. This saga was obvious to me. Maybe, because during my first reading, it made me think of the film SHELTER which is part of my favorite movies. The bases of departure are similar, but the series of T.J. thanks to its 4 volumes offer a more developed vision and goes further than the end of the film. This family story is one of my first favorites in MM Romance. I laughed, I cried, I smiled, I screamed, in short, I vibrated over their history and I am convinced that with a good team, it could be a family series of quality in the line of Freeform’s THE FOSTERS.

Number 1: The Billionaire’s Boyfriend de Geoffrey Knight

Finally, in 1st position, The billionaire’s Boyfriend of Geoffrey Knight, one of my literary favorites of last year. I loved this title that I devoured in a few hours. I decided to place it in 1st position for the simple reason that at the end of my reading when I rested my kindle, I had only one thought: “Fuck it would be the perfect scenario of a romantic comedy with Jennifer Lopez. ” Well if JLO had fewer breasts and more balls, but hey, details. This title is a real breath of freshness and good humor that takes all the codes of the comrom. We find a fantastic meeting, the flowering of their feelings, grandiose Dates and, of course, a disruptive element that comes to shake everything up and that forces our hero to accomplish a great epic gesture to win back the heart of his beloved. It’s almost kitsch, but damn it’s that good.

Here it is on this title that I placed without hesitation in first place that I leave you. I hope you enjoyed the initiative and that my choices will you perhaps helped to discover or rediscover some titles. While waiting to meet me for an upcoming issue, I invite you to visit Sam’s blog or her YouTube channel in order to discover her selection.
With that, I wish you a very pleasant late evening, feel free to share this article or leave me a comment below and I see you real soon.
